I'd had three collaborations this year (not bad for starting in May). Collaborations must start with trust. There is a huge potential for a communication disaster if trust has not been built first. I vetted each person I worked with to ensure a successful collaboration. Close relationships were also developed so it's important you like the person you're working with.
I've had my off grid voices section of my newsletter for a few months now and I absolutely love getting to know new people through it, being on the look out for people who might fit and just learning about how other people live. It's been a lot of fun!
Thanks for sharing about this, Sophie! I know we didn't find a way yet to collaborate on our newsletters, but I would like to feature what you're doing on CollabStack in some way (in addition to the directory entry, of course). I am thinking of doing short features/interviews of people who do regular collaborations, sharing out any tips you have for how you made it work for you. If I do something like that here, would you be interested?
Thank you for this generous, lovely, useful collection of insights. So helpful as I invite writers to share their stories of everyday bravery via my Stack.
Thank you for sharing this, Christine! Have you started sharing the everyday bravery stories yet? Definitely send me a link and let me know, I'd love to share it out.
Thank you, Marcy. Yes, we published our first Everyday Brave story on Friday. Here's the post inviting collaborations (also pinned to my page now). I look forward to adopting more of your ideas, too.
Amazing, thank you so much for being the first to share, Jillian! I knew there had to be a few out there who did some great collaborations this year. I will check these out, and I may reach out to you in the new year about doing an interview/profile of you and your experience with collaboration, if you’re interested?
I really enjoyed our collaboration. You made it so easy and were supportive. Our work felt aligned and it was a pleasure to work with you Marcy. 🙏✨💕
Thank you so much, Lisa! I enjoyed our collaboration as well, and I learned so much from you about the inner child!

Thank you for sharing your advice, Shelby! Absolutely, trust is important, especially for bigger projects.
